Nutrition Evidence Alert – May 2026 – Preventative Health

BANT and the NED Editorial Board are delighted to announce the release of Issue 11 of the NED Journal, focusing on preventative health through personalised nutrition, genetics, and wearable devices. This edition was produced to support the NED Science Forum on the 12th May, which was an amazing day with so much information delivered by our speakers and collaboration amongst the delegates. A huge thanks to everyone who attended or was involved, without you this event wouldn’t be the huge success that it is year after year.

In the 11th issue we have feature articles from the NED Managing Editor, Clare Grundel MSc MBANT, BANT Communications Manager, Claire Sambolino, MSc MBANT, and Natalie Louise Burrows MBANT, looking at the role of continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) and other wearable tech in nutrition practice. There is also an informative advertorial piece from the Lifecode Gx team, Emma Beswick and Agnieszka Lemieszewska titled Personalising Hormonal Health Support with Nutrigenetic Support, so make sure you check those out.

In this edition our expert reviewers have also dissected the latest research on topics stretching from the effect of ultra-processed food on DNA methylation, to whether wearable devices can promote physical activity and reduce pain in individuals with musculoskeletal disorders. All with useful insights into how you can translate this research in your own clinical practice. Thanks as always to the NED Expert Review panel for their hard work and the NED Editorial Board for their peer reviewing and expert advice.
