The BANT Wellbeing Guidelines<\/h1>\n

BANT Wellbeing Guidelines<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>– are evidenced-based guidelines providing information on nutrition and lifestyle measures when personalised advice is not possible. The guidelines are equally well suited as the starting point for use by Registered Nutritional Therapists and healthcare professionals to further personalise the recommendations to their clients and patients.<\/p>\n

The Key Guideline Messages<\/h3>\n

These messages help provide direction for using these guidelines.<\/p>\n

  1. Fight the Fat or General Wellness. Choose your goal: Everyone is unique but whatever your goal, similar nutritional principles and health and wellbeing guidelines will apply.<\/li>\n
  2. Eat a Rainbow: a varied diet of 7 differently coloured fruit and vegetables per day.<\/li>\n
  3. Stay hydrated with water, herbal teas, green and black teas. Avoid alcohol, sugary drinks and too much caffeine.<\/li>\n
  4. Ensure protein is lean: fish, poultry, eggs and vegetable sources. Limit red and processed meat.<\/li>\n
  5. Include healthy fats: avocados, nuts, olive oil. Cook with healthy saturated fats: coconut oil and butter.<\/li>\n
  6. Choose root vegetables and whole grains instead of refined carbohydrates and grains: Eat sparingly.<\/li>\n
  7. For Weight Loss: exercise, limit portion sizes, don\u2019t eat between meals. Avoid: Sugar, artificial sweeteners, alcohol and refined carbohydrates.<\/li>\n
  8. Include the right supplements: vitamin D, in particular, for most people and probiotics and additional blood sugar support as advised by your Registered Nutritional Therapist<\/li>\n
  9. Sleep and exercise are an important aspect in overall health and wellbeing, and weight management.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
