    BANT responsibilities

  • Employed by BANT as the Administrator/General Manager on a full time basis
  • Responsible for all managerial aspects of running BANT
  • Managing and ensuring that the Head of Communications and all other committees are running smoothly and meeting targets
  • All administrative tasks including the maintenance of the membership database, website and renewals
  • Project manages all website and system developments and improvements
  • Webmaster, responsible for maintaining and updating the BANT website
  • Generating financial for the year end accounts, quarterly budgets, monthly accounts and allocation/analysis of income and expenses
  • Responsible for introducing new systems for the efficient and cost effective running of the company
  • Co-ordinates projects and is a member of several working groups and teams

Daniel O'Shaughnessy

  • Trained as a Nutritional Therapist at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition (ION) 2012
  • Previous career in Substance Misuse and Addiction working for 8 years in a clinic setting and for government projects
  • Runs own Nutritional Therapy Consultancy
  • Delivers training courses in Addiction & Nutrition
  • Co-founder of a luxury international retreat company
  • Gained his first BSc (Hons) in Criminal Justice with Law/font
  • Passionate about raising the profile of Nutritional Therapy

    Council Support Executive

  • Provide support for BANT Council Meetings
  • Preparing the agenda and collating the paperwork
  • Producing minutes and updating action items and key decisions
  • Company Sectretary

  • Company mems and arts and legal issues as well as Company framework and Companies House contact
  • Ensuring that the annual return and annual accounts are submitted in accordance with legislative requirements
  • Ensuring that an Annual General Meeting is held as per the Articles of Association
  • Ensuring that directors are appointed according to Articles of Association
  • Ensuring that the company acts in accordance with the objects stated in its Memorandum of Association

Helen Barklam

Helen Barklam - Head of Communications

  • Qualified as a Nutritional Therapist in September 2010 from the College of Naturopathic Medicine
  • Helen has more than 18 years of experience as a PR, marketing and communications specialist across the public and private sectors. This has involved working across a wide range of major brands and organisations at every level, including the Department of Health, NHS North West, Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, Johnson & Johnson, Roche Pharmaceuticals and the Life Lounge nutrition clinics.
  • Helen's experience includes managing national marketing communications campaigns, developing and implementing communications strategies, managing crisis communications scenarios and designing and delivering stakeholder engagement plans - working with a range of stakeholders from Government ministers to charity volunteers.
  • Helen practices as a Nutritional Therapist in her health and sports nutrition clinics in Lancashire, with a particular interest in Sports Nutrition.
  • She is one of just a handful of people in the UK offering hydration testing for the 'athlete on the street'.
