Katherine Brookhouse is a Msc qualified Nutritional Therapist. (mBANT, BA Hons Physical Education and Sports Science, PGCE, ACSM Personal Trainer). She is passionate about using Nutrition and lifestyle interventions to support both your physical and mental wellbeing Special interests: Autoimmune disease, Food Allergy and intolerances, Chronic fatigue, Digestive issues, Weight loss, Detoxification for improved wellness, Mental health support, Chronic infections, in particular Lyme disease, together with complications associated with infections such as Mast Cell Activation syndrome, Mold exposure and Alzheimers.
Both her daughter and mother have Lyme disease, so she knows first-hand how hard it is to live with such a debilitating disease. She has a deep knowledge and understanding of how the disease can present and the myriad misdiagnosis that can result from this and other underlying infections. As to supporting someone with Lyme disease, she is well researched in interventions needed to support those clients who take a conventional antibiotic treatment route. Alternatively for those looking for a more holistic approach, she has extensive knowledge of Nutritional and supplemental protocols for this chronic disease. She has attended a number of both UK and overseas Lyme conferences, and was invited to attend the ILADS 2017 conference on behalf of the largest UK lyme disease support group, Lyme Disease UK Discussion group, which has just recently been awarded charity status. She also runs a local Lyme support group who meet monthly in her home. In 2017 she supported fellow Lyme activists, Drs and researchers, in lobbying parliament to set up an All Party Parliamentary group (APPG) to investigate the NHS and government plans to treat Lyme disease. With regard to her overall approach to supporting clients, In her opinion, there is no Perfect Diet because we are all individuals. With her background in Physical education and Personal training, she is also able to advice clients on lifestyle interventions beyond nutrition.
