I hold a first class honours degree in nutritional therapy and I have over 30 years experience as a professional chef, where I have gained a comprehensive knowledge of food. This, coupled with my understanding of nutritional biochemistry enables me to help people identify beneficial foods and to understand their nutritional benefits.
My ethos is to help people promote self-empowerment and control over their own health and wellbeing. I believe that achieving a realistic dietary balance that is sustainable is key in promoting and maintaining good health. I also understand the importance of the mind-body connection (how one affects the other) and its role in achieving balance and supporting health.
I am a keen advocate of health promotion and as well as being registered nutritionist for a leading contract caterer, Vacherin, I provide diet and lifestyle advice for Transport for London / Keolis and I have a private nutritional therapy practice in Islington. I have worked with housing associations and local authorities to set up and run community based wellbeing and cook & eat workshops. I currently run a catering project for people with mental health issues and teach beginners and healthy eating cookery classes to adult learners, people with learning difficulties and vulnerable ethnic groups.
